Production Reporting - Scrap/Weight Difference
PS

SCREEN OVERVIEW

The PS screen is used to enter information about scrap that resulted from the production transaction.  The PS screen is displayed when the user selects Scrap from the Operation drop down box on the Summary screen.  The PS screen should not be used until all Charge and Discharge data is entered.  The screen is divided into three sections.  The top part displays some summary data for the transaction.  The middle section has entry fields for defining a scrap entry.  The bottom displays a list of the scrap entries already made.

There can be several scrap entries for a production transaction.  For example, side trim scrap that is engineered into the process could be an entry, and head end scrap due to off gauge could be a separate entry.  Once an entry is made in the middle section, the user clicks the "Scrap" button.  This moves that entry to the bottom section, and clears the middle fields for another entry.  The system also recalculates the Remaining Weight value shown at the top.

Once all scrap entries are displayed in the bottom section, the user clicks the "Add" button.  This caused the Summary screen to display.  The scrap entries should now be displayed on the Summary screen.

SCREEN FIELDS - TOP - SUMMARY DATA

Processor Material Identification:  ID of last Charge item.

Charged Weight:  Sum of weights of charged in items.

Discharged Weight:  Sum of weights of discharged in items.

Remaining Weight:  Difference between total charge weight and total discharge weight.  A negative value indicates the discharge weight is more than the charge weight.  If this is true then a scale weight gain needs entered on the Summary screen.

SCREEN FIELDS - MIDDLE - SCRAP DATA

Responsibility*:  Who is responsible for the scrap.  The drop down box displays allowed values.  Required field.

Weight*:  Weight of the scrap in pounds.  Required field.

# Pieces:  Number of pieces scrapped.  Use only when scrap is in cut length form.

Defect:  Code that identifies defect in the steel.  Not all scrap is a result of a defect.  Use when appropriate.  The F9 key displays allowed values.

B/C:  Whether the scrap is bare or coated steel.

Authorization:  Authorization or reference code for scrap allowance.

*Indicates a required field.

SCREEN FIELDS - BOTTOM - SCRAP SUMMARY

Total Scrap:  System calculated weight of all scrap entries displayed at bottom.

ACTION BUTTONS

Scrap:  Moves the scrap entry in middle of screen to Scrap Reporting summary at bottom of screen. To be used each time a new scrap entry is made.

Add:  Tells the system that all scrap entries have been made. Displays the Summary screen with the scrap entries now shown there.
